Operations for the "Gap Kids"

Speaking and swallowing
without trouble
A cleft palate is one of the most common malformations worldwide, leading to significant drinking, swallowing and speaking disorders. Children with this condition really suffer, because they are mocked as a result of their disfigurement and are often hidden. But this cruel fate can sometimes be averted through a single operation. In 2014, we donated to the association CLEFT Kinderhilfe e.V., to help correct cleft palates in children in India, Bangladesh, Peru, Bolivia, Vietnam, Uganda, Rwanda, Afghanistan and the Philippines. After the correction, the children were finally to be able to freely talk and swallow.
