In a half-day workshop Barkawi Management Consulting (Shanghai) Co., Ltd introduced their customer orientated In-ventory Management Solutions within the Chinese and global market, agreeing with international pro-inventory advocates, in Shanghai
The international management consultancy and provider of implementation support services, Barkawi Management Consultants, hold anew a workshop in Shanghai sharing their expertise on Supply Chain Management with Chinese logistics and after sales service professionals on 11th September 2007. This time the workshop dealt with the topic on Inventory Planning.
To highlight the demand of a competent, qualified and customer orien-tated planning tool Dr. Andreas Baader, Barkawi managing partner, em-phasized the most important character differences between volume busi-ness planning and spare parts planning. According to Baader planning is “the most sophisticated competency required in order to successfully handle a service chain”. Therefore the planning process is divided into a three steps by Barkawi: starting with analyzing the customers demand forecast based on his history data, adapting his inventory demands by optimizing procedures and providing him a simulation case based on a past period to demonstrate the necessity of efficient planning.
Introduction of Barkawi’s Stock Manager
During the second part of the Inventory Planning Workshop Mr. Jin, Tao and Mr. Hu, Bin, consultants with Barkawi Management Consulting (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., introduced a newly developed planning tool: Barka-wi Stock Manager. According to Barkawi this planning tool differs from others due to its “best fit planning solutions to customers according to their actual needs”, meaning - equivalent to their parts value, handling of a massive data input and a certain parts amount as well as suitable for a single warehouse. The Barkawi’s Stock Manager was developed to fulfill four major functions: forecast calculation and rounding as well as Inven-tory Management and KPI. To name only a few of the advantages which will be revealed by companies using the Stock Manager are the easy integration with the ERP system and the lower hard- and software re-quirements etc. These and further additional features contribute to make this tool accessible to and suitable for all kinds of businesses: small, me-dium and large enterprises. At the end of the workshop Barkawi was able to convince the attendees of its newly developed tool by demonstrating it in a life show.
